By using our website, registering for activities or participating in any programme, event or service, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
1. About Hindu Heritage Academy
Hindu Heritage Academy is a community-based educational initiative operated by Doing My Bit.
Our aim is to provide educational, cultural, heritage and community learning opportunities that support understanding of Hindu values, traditions, culture, history and community engagement.
All programmes are delivered subject to available resources, volunteer support, safeguarding requirements and organisational capacity.
2. Eligibility
Where programmes are intended for children or young people, registration must be completed by a parent, guardian or person with legal responsibility for the child.
Participants must provide accurate and complete information when registering for activities.
Hindu Heritage Academy reserves the right to refuse or withdraw participation where information is incomplete, inaccurate or where participation may create safeguarding, welfare or operational concerns.
3. Registration
Places on programmes, classes and events may be limited.
Submission of a registration form does not guarantee acceptance onto a programme until confirmation has been provided.
We reserve the right to:
- Limit participant numbers.
- Prioritise places where demand exceeds capacity.
- Establish waiting lists.
- Refuse registrations where reasonably necessary.
- Amend programme content, schedules or delivery methods.
4. Children's Participation
The safety and wellbeing of children is our highest priority.
Parents and guardians are responsible for:
- Providing accurate registration information.
- Providing emergency contact details.
- Informing us of any relevant medical conditions, allergies or support requirements.
- Ensuring children behave respectfully and appropriately.
- Prompt collection of children where required.
Parents and guardians must ensure that information provided remains accurate and notify us of any significant changes.
5. Safeguarding
Hindu Heritage Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
All participants, parents, volunteers and staff must comply with our Safeguarding Policy.
Where safeguarding concerns arise, Hindu Heritage Academy reserves the right to:
- Restrict participation.
- Suspend attendance.
- Remove individuals from activities.
- Report concerns to appropriate safeguarding authorities.
Nothing in these Terms limits our safeguarding responsibilities or legal obligations.
6. Code of Conduct
All participants, parents, guardians, visitors, staff and volunteers are expected to behave respectfully and appropriately.
The following behaviour may result in suspension or removal from programmes:
- Bullying or harassment.
- Threatening or abusive conduct.
- Discrimination of any kind.
- Disruptive behaviour.
- Inappropriate online conduct.
- Behaviour that compromises the safety or wellbeing of others.
- Damage to property or facilities.
Hindu Heritage Academy reserves the right to take reasonable action where behaviour falls below expected standards.
7. Participation in Free Programmes
Hindu Heritage Academy provides community-funded educational and cultural activities free of charge unless otherwise stated.
Participation is subject to availability and organisational capacity.
Participation does not create any entitlement to future services, programmes or places.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue programmes where necessary.
8. Attendance and Cancellations
Participants are encouraged to attend regularly and notify us if they are unable to attend.
Repeated non-attendance without notice may result in places being offered to others where waiting lists exist.
Hindu Heritage Academy may cancel, postpone or reschedule activities due to:
- Venue availability.
- Volunteer or staff availability.
- Health and safety concerns.
- Safeguarding concerns.
- Adverse weather conditions.
- Circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Reasonable efforts will be made to notify participants of any changes.
9. Online Activities
Where programmes are delivered online:
- Participants must use approved platforms.
- Parents remain responsible for supervising younger children where appropriate.
- Participants must behave respectfully.
- Participants must not share inappropriate content.
- Sessions must not be recorded, copied or distributed without prior permission.
The academy reserves the right to remove participants from online sessions where behaviour is inappropriate or unsafe.
10. WhatsApp Groups and Digital Communications
Hindu Heritage Academy may use WhatsApp groups, email communications and other digital channels to communicate with parents, guardians and participants.
Participation in communication groups is voluntary.
By joining a WhatsApp group or communication channel, participants acknowledge that:
- Other members may be able to view names and telephone numbers.
- Information shared in groups should be appropriate and respectful.
- Personal information belonging to others should not be shared without permission.
The academy reserves the right to remove participants from communication groups where behaviour is inappropriate.
11. Photography, Video and Media
Photographs, videos and recordings may be taken during activities where appropriate consent has been provided.
Photographs and recordings may be used for:
- Educational purposes.
- Community engagement.
- Charity reporting.
- Promotional materials.
- Website and social media content.
Where consent has not been provided, reasonable efforts will be made to avoid identifiable use of images.
Parents and guardians may withdraw future consent by contacting info@hinduheritageacademy.co.uk.
12. Intellectual Property
All content on the website and all materials provided by Hindu Heritage Academy, including:
- Educational resources.
- Documents.
- Lesson materials.
- Logos.
- Branding.
- Graphics.
- Publications.
remain the property of Doing My Bit or its licensors unless otherwise stated.
Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, modified or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
13. Website Use
Users must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems.
- Introduce malicious software.
- Interfere with website operations.
- Submit false information.

16. Changes to Programmes, Policies and Terms
Hindu Heritage Academy reserves the right to update programmes, policies, procedures and these Terms and Conditions at any time.
Updated versions will be published on our website and will take effect from the published revision date.
17. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
